Robert John Cooper Joins Meritain Health

(Buffalo, NY, November 2, 2007) - Meritain Health, the nation's largest independent provider of services for self-funded health and wellness plans, today announced the addition of Robert John Cooper as Regional Vice President of Sales. In his new role, Cooper will be responsible for broker development and new product sales of self-funded benefit plans in Washington, Montana, Idaho, Oregon and northern parts of Nevada and California.

Cooper brings more than 15 years of experience in the design, sale and service of health insurance and employee benefits, as well as sales management to Meritain Health. Cooper came to Meritain from Insurance Solution Center, a health and employee benefits sales and administration company of which he founded. His responsibilities included the design and sale of CDHPs, primarily using the HRA model. Prior to this position, Cooper served as director of sales at Primary Health Plan, where he was responsible for generating new business and was instrumental in the company's membership increase of more than 8,000 within a two-year time span.

Cooper is chapter president of Pheasants Forever, a habitat organization dedicated to the preservation of Pheasants. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in marketing from Boise State University.
