Michelle Burdi Joins Meritain Health

(Buffalo, NY, Nov. 12, 2007) - Meritain Health, the nation's largest independent provider of services for self-funded health and wellness plans, today announced the addition of Michelle Burdi as Regional Vice President of Sales. In her new role, Burdi will be responsible for sales of self-funded benefit plans in Illinois.

Burdi brings more than 10 years of management and sales experience in the healthcare industry to Meritain Health. Burdi came to Meritain Health from Zurich North America, where she served as a business development manager and was responsible for selling insurance products to self-funded employer groups, as well as managing accounts and maintaining TPA and broker relationships. Prior to this position, Burdi served as director of special health sales at Celtic Insurance Company, where she sold conversion coverage to MGUs, HMOs and insurance companies.

Burdi is a member of the Health Insurance Association of America, the General Underwriting Association of America, the Self-Insured Association of America and the American Association of Health Plans. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology from Southern Illinois University and a Masters of Science degree in public service administration from DePaul University.
