Meritain Health Leadership
Jeff Goddard serves as the President of Meritain Health, an Aetna Company. In his role, Jeff is responsible for setting the business strategy and ensuring the execution of Meritain Health’s critical business objectives. As a stand-alone Aetna business, the Meritain organization includes all functions of a self-funded health plan third party administration service provider including: sales, client management, product, risk management, customer and provider network operations, underwriting, reporting and analytics, and technology and administrative platforms. Jeff joined Meritain Health in May 2013, at which point he served as the Chief Operating Officer.
Prior to joining Meritain Health, Jeff spent eight years with Aetna in various executive level finance roles. Most recently with Aetna, Jeff served as the Chief Financial Officer for Aetna’s Commercial and Specialty Businesses Divisions. In his time with Aetna, Jeff also served as the Chief Financial Officer for Strategic Resource Company, an Aetna Company. Prior to joining Aetna, Jeff spent seven years with Citigroup in a variety of senior level finance and operations leadership roles. Jeff was also a manager in the Audit and Business Advisory practice at Price Waterhouse, where he served a wide range of clients and industries including manufacturing, banking and investment partnerships.
Michael Ciarrocchi is the Executive Director, Local Market Development at Meritain Heath. In his role, he helps drive creative solutions to empower brokers and plan sponsors to improve clinical outcomes, while reducing the total cost of care to their benefit plans. He focuses on tailoring solutions in local markets by bringing value based networks, ACOs and innovative cost containment solutions to help our customers achieve their strategic benefit goals. Additionally, he provides leadership to Meritain Health’s middle market, public, and labor sales teams, oversight to network, cost containment, and pharmacy strategies and oversees Meritain Health’s collaboration with the Aetna teams marketing these services.
Michael joined the Meritain Heath team in 2011. He has worked at Aetna since 2000 in various capacities, including Meritain Health’s head of distribution and channel management, and head of Aetna Signature Administrators, Cofinity and regional marketing manager for the Southwest and Capitol regions. Prior to Aetna, Michael worked for a public health consultant and a pediatric hospital in the Washington, D.C. area.
Michael attended Loyola University in Maryland, where he earned graduate degrees in finance and management.
As the Head of Client Management, Melissa Elwood provides executive leadership and strategic direction for client satisfaction and service delivery. For over 20 years, Melissa has held key leadership roles within Meritain Health within claims, customer service and client management. Most recently, she served as Regional President and prior to that as Meritain’s National Practice Leader. Melissa brings a passion for collaboration to our business and a focus on enhancing the client experience.
Melissa has centered her leadership on building strong teams, developing client oriented solutions and carrying the voice of the customer through every decision. She works closely with all internal partners to drive client satisfaction, while achieving long-term business objectives.
Melissa currently lives in Williamsville, NY with her husband and their two children. She and her family are supporters of several local and national charitable organizations.
She is a graduate of the University of Buffalo and is a licensed Health Insurance Agent.
David C. Parker is the Head of National Accounts Sales and Strategic Partnerships at Meritain Health. He leads the organization in delivering innovative and integrated healthcare solutions to drive measurable improvement for Meritain Health’s largest customers. He focuses on building relationships with his internal and external partners to find the most effective and efficient healthcare solutions to help customers manage their benefits in a rapidly changing marketplace.
He joined Meritain Health in 1999. Previously, he was Regional Vice President of National Benefit Resources in Atlanta, GA, Sales Executive with InterCare Health Systems in Englewood, CO, and Brokerage Manager and Vice President of Agents & Brokers Financial, Inc. of Albuquerque, NM.
David is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters, the Self-Insurance Institute of America and HCAA . He attended Auburn University.
