Hurricane Harvey – Assistance to Our Members in Need
Meritain Health works hard to support our members and their families, and our hearts are with those experiencing the devastation in Houston and its surrounding areas. Hurricane Harvey has presented unbelievable challenges and continues to wreak havoc along the Gulf Coast. Many of our members have sought safety through evacuation, and face an uncertain future as the storm passes and the area begins to rebuild.
We’re always here to help our members with support for your healthcare needs—all the time, especially during severe weather.
Get the medical care you need
If you need urgent or emergency care but are away from home, you can visit an urgent care center or hospital no matter where you are*. If you are in need of care that requires precertification, Meritain Health is extending its precertification policy due to Hurricane Harvey. You or your provider may call to precertify care within the fastest reasonable time frame, including after your admission.
And when you need non-urgent care, you can use your meritain.com account to search for a provider in your network. It’s available to you around the clock—24 hours a day, or by calling Meritain Health Customer Service using the phone number on your member ID card.
Fill your prescriptions
If you need to replace your medication or request a refill, simply call the Customer Service number of your pharmacy plan to speak with a representative. The phone number of your pharmacy plan is listed on your member ID card.
In addition, a list of all open pharmacies is available at: https://www.healthcareready.org/rxopen. All pharmacies in the impacted and surrounding areas have been notified of emergency policies and procedures. They will allow you to refill prescriptions and replenish your needed medications.
